| 2009-01-01: | New backing Colour and Flexible new backing on our Progress non-woven |
|
The new backing on our progress is excellent received by some of our current heavy users of PROGRESS. The material was always good printable but the handling after the print before shipping to the customer had some minor points but our new backing line made this problem finally disappear. Most of our customers wanted the backing smoother in handling after printing so the roll was easier rolled for shipping to customers. We have changed the flexibility and the color to make this an excellent product.

| 2008-08-28: | DuPont Digital Printing introduces next generation Artistri Pigment Inks |
|
DuPont Digital Printing recently announced the availability of the next generation of DuPont Artistri P5000 Color Inks for direct-to-garment digital printing.
Originally launched in 2005 for direct-to-garment printing on cotton or cotton rich blends for applications like t-shirts and other specialty applications, the brilliant Artistri P5000 aqueous-based pigment ink set consists of CMYK, along with its cutting-edge white ink. The inks are all specially formulated by DuPont science to provide bright, bold and vibrant textile printing with excellent end-use performance. This next generation of P5000 Series color inks will provide enhanced wash and substrate performance as well as improved printing and end-use properties over a wider range of substrates, including non-cotton fabrics.
Artistri P5000 series inks have been specifically formulated to work in printers with low-viscosity piezo-electric printheads and are suitable for high-quality sampling, strike-off and production printing. The ink and DuPont pre-treatment solutions are integrated into a matched system that works together for optimum results.
The comprehensive Artistri ink offering also includes:
Artistri 500 series acid dye inks designed for use in printheads that require lower viscosity inks for applications on silk and nylon/elastane blends.
Artistri 700 series acid, disperse and reactive dye and pigment inks designed for use in printheads that require medium viscosity inks for printing on popular textile materials for a wide range of applications

| 2008-08-05: | New flexible UV ink F-200 and UV primer for Mimaki’s UV inkjet printers |
|
Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce a newly developed flexible UV ink and UV primer to accommodate various materials and processing.
Since Mimaki launched the first UV inkjet printer named UJF-605C in 2004, some state-of-the art UV inkjet printers have been introduced to the market such as the UJF-605R for printing on soft packaging film and the JF-1610/1630 for printing on large, rigid substrates. Following the expanded use of UV inkjet printers, the varieties of materials for UV printing are also increasing. In order to meet these requirements, Mimaki has developed new flexible inks and a UV primer.
The F-200 flexible UV ink can be stretched by up to 200% and be used for embossing processes such as membrane switches as well as for film-insert molding like panel switches for electronic appliances. The ink is not likely to crack or split even after molding. For example, print on membrane switches with lamination is unaffected after actuating the switch 500,000 times. Highly opaque white ink is also available to be used for back printing on transparent or front printing on colored materials, to provide vivid full color reproduction.
The UV primer for Standard Mimaki UV ink also works as adhesive between ink and printed materials. By applying the liquid to inorganic rigid surfaces like metal and glass, the ink adhesiveness on such materials is much improved thereby extending product durability. Mimaki has succeeded in developing a primer which is chemically compatible with standard Mimaki UV inks and greatly increases adhesiveness between the ink and substrates.

| 2008-07-10: | Mimaki Adds White Ink |
|
Mimaki Adds White Ink For use with JV33 solvent printers. Mimaki has developed a new white ink for its SS21 inkset that is used with its JV33 series of wide-format solvent printers. The new white ink is fast drying with improved whiteness and opacity. Additionally, the white pigments have been improved to prevent a shift of whiteness due to sedimentation.
The new white ink, along with Mimaki's "White ink overlay printing" makes printing faster. Normally when printing white as an underlayer on transparent media, white is printed first and then the media has to be re-fed to print the color on top of the white. This can lead to registration problems. However, the new white ink overlay printing allows users to image white and full-color simultaneously for quicker and more accurate output.
“Now designers can produce the same vivid images with white under and overlay which was previously available only on flatbed printers“, says Isao Tabayashi, general manager of IM (Ink and Media) division.

| 2008-06-29: | Matan Digital Printers presents at drupa 2008, a record-breaking printing speed of |
|
Matan Digital Printers presents at drupa 2008, a record-breaking printing speed of over 300 m²/hr with the next generation of its Barak5 - a Super-wide Format, UV, Hybrid Digital Printer.
Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel, May 22, 2008 - Matan, the original innovator of the Super-wide Format (SWF) digital printing industry, presents at drupa 2008, the next generation of its Barak5 - now offering production speed of over 300 m²/hr, while maintaining its versatility and high print quality.
A Press Conference will be held at Matan's stand 8a / B25, on May 31st at 1:30 PM. Live demonstrations of the Barak line will be given throughout the show, May 29-June 11, 2008.
It has been less than a year since the Barak line of 5m and 3.5m wide, UV, Hybrid digital printers was launched. Now, Matan proudly introduces the next generation of its Barak5 –enhanced with mechanical and software features, which further leverage its overall performance and benefits. "Matan is constantly seeking new ways of improving its products and meet the most demanding customers' requirements" says Hanan Yosefi, President & CEO of Matan. "The new Barak5 allows users to improve productivity and the overall performance of their print shop while enhancing quality for their customers."
The Barak Line's Enhanced Benefits The Barak is a SWF line of digital printers, using UV-curable inks, available in 5m & 3.5m widths, easy to operate and guaranteeing a low Total Cost of Ownership.
The Barak5 offers the following benefits to the end-user: High Performance: Barak5 incorporates leading print-head technology, featuring 32 print-heads with drop sizes starting at 30 picoliter for high-quality output. Its extended color gamut and flexible inks (Barak UV 300) enable it to target a wide range of demanding applications. The low ink consumption with coverage of up to 180 m²/liter (1940 ft²/liter), and its record-breaking throughput of over 300 m²/hr (3200 ft²/hr) meet the performance requirements of the most advanced print shop.
Versatility: Barak is the only 5m wide UV, hybrid printer in the market that handles both flexible and rigid materials, either coated or uncoated. Its optional Multi-roll feature enables the Barak to easily print on up to three rolls simultaneously, making it the perfect solution for printing in demanding production environments. In addition, the printer can run at various printing modes from POP quality to billboards beyond 300 m²/hr – no ink switching needed – which saves precious production time as well as significantly improving ink consumption.
Ease of use: The Barak product line implements Matan's user-friendly approach in both the mechanical and software design, assuring an easy, fast and intuitive workflow. The machine now features a Multi-Function Vacuum Table, suitable for the most demanding media handling needs and can switch to mesh – in a click, and at virtually no set-up time –thanks to a pneumatic mechanism. Along with a newly implemented motorised head-carriage elevating system, these enhanced features enable users to achieve even higher productivity as well as enhanced printing quality on a wide variety media types, and the easiest way to handle Mesh applications. A new feeder motor for up to 5m media width is implemented on the feeder rollers for easier Double Side printing applications.
Environmentally Friendly: In line with Matan’s environmentally friendly philosophy, the Barak line uses UV inks that minimize site preparation requirements, ventilation and disposal. As a complementary solution for environmentally conscious print providers, Barak users can also easily print on 'green' recyclable media such as Polyethylene (PE).
Low Cost of Ownership: The Barak offers a competitive Total Cost of Ownership, thanks to a very low level of ink consumption (up to 180 m² per 1 liter of ink), minimal media waste (about 35cm only, during media loading), and the overall ease of machine operation which enables our customers to maximize production at lower costs.. Now, with its 32 print heads, the Barak5 offers almost double throughput (over 300 m²/hr) and extends the machine's production potential to new levels, without compromising the printout's quality.
In addition, Matan will exhibit the flagship of its Thermal Transfer product line – the Matan SprinG³, which will be demonstrated throughout the show. The SprinG³ is an industrial 12 inch (30 cm), Roll-to-roll digital printer, designed for fast, durable, short runs with vivid colors for Labels, Decals, Membranes, Traffic and other Signs. Printed samples of tags, labels and different signs will be available on-site to illustrate the printer's unique output on a wide variety of media.
Matan's Thermal Transfer product line also features the Matan Spot4 - A unique, industrial 36'' wide (91.5 cm) digital printer, perfect for short-run productions of window decoration and traffic applications. The Spot4 enables printing up to 4 colors in one pass using special "etching" ink for imitating traditional sandblasting and creating permanent and customized images on glass. Information about the Matan Spot4 will be provided at Matan's stand.

Randolph, NJ, November 30, 2006 - Ultraflex Systems, Inc., manufacturer & worldwide distributor of diverse options of digital solvent, UV & screen printing substrates, has teamed up with Printing Carpets to offer winning solutions of printable carpet for digital solvent, UV and dye sub printers.
Ultraflex stocks the finest European looped carpet available & can offer printers the technical support they need to succeed in the relatively untapped (yet quite profitable) market in North America.
Year of Testing Ultraflex has spent the last year investigating and thoroughly testing printable carpet options available globally and they were impressed with what Printing Carpets of The Netherlands had to offer. Together, they now offer optical white carpet in 3 stock widths that can be used on wide format printers such as Vutek, Scitex, Matan, NUR. MacDermid Colorspan and Gandinnovation's Jeti.
Ultraflex printable carpet was a HUGE hit at SGIA '06. Many of the industry's top companies featured Ultraflex carpet as the carpeting for their booths; the SGIA booth was covered with Ultraflex carpet and it gained a lot of attention at the show. The carpet image was designed to encapsulate the look of hardwood, stained wood, sand and tile flooring all on one carpet; it was a great success.
